Booking terms and conditions
Friesland Holland Travel Service BV of Wolvega, affiliated with travel guarantee fund SGR, is the travel agency responsible for putting together the travel packages featured on this website. The agency is a branch of tourist information center Friesland Holland.
Package prices
The listed package prices are rates per person, based on two people sharing a double room. A price calculation based on a room occupancy of two guests is common in the hotel and travel industry. Nowadays all rooms are doubles. There is a 50% surcharge over the package price if the room has only one occupant. This surcharge does not apply to extras such as bike or boat rental.
Reservations
A reservation by telephone is handled by Friesland Holland Travel Service BV in the same way as a reservation by mail. Friesland Holland Travel Service BV may possibly require a booking order in writing. Check under the heading ‘cancellation fees’. Verbal booking agreements are legally binding for Friesland Holland Travel Service BV only after written confirmation by Friesland Holland Travel Service BV.
Payment
15% of the booking fee must be paid within 14 days after the date of invoice; the remaining sum (85% of the booking fee) must have been transferred, at the latest, six weeks before the date of arrival stated on the invoice by Friesland Holland Travel Service BV. For creditcard payments an extra 5% of the total fee will be charged with regard to payment fees required by the creditcard agency.
Should you choose to alter your starting date after booking, we will charge you € 75,00 per booking as a partial compensation for the booking and administrative costs that have already been made. This charge (contribution for costs already made) only applies when there is a time difference of more than six weeks between the original starting date and your application to change that date. Should there be less than six weeks between the original starting date and the moment that the change has been requested, our cancellation terms apply.
Last minute
The sum total (the travel fee) must have been transferred, at the latest, one day before the starting date and, in the event of bookings made later than one day in advance, at least one hour before the trip begins. By making a down-payment on or payment of the total fee stated on the invoice, the travel booker shows himself in agreement with the particulars stated on the invoice and presented in the guest information (attached to the invoice) and also with the above-mentioned terms and conditions.
Liability
Friesland Holland Travel Service BV is not liable for damages or bodily harm suffered by its clients, no matter what the cause. Nor is Friesland Holland Travel Service BV liable for the consequences of government measures, national mourning, fire, warfare, terrorism, sedition, hostage-taking, rioting, storm, strikes, molestation, flooding, road blocks, loss, theft, damages to possessions such as luggage and appliances, including money.
Cancellation of the trip and/or amendments
a) Should Friesland Holland Travel Service BV not be able to deliver on a booking as a result of force majeure (i.e. government measures, national mourning, fire, warfare, terrorism, sedition, hostage-taking, rioting, storm, strikes, molestation, flooding, road blocks), the BV undertakes to refund all fees paid in advance promptly and the agreement will be legally cancelled.
b) In the eventuality of Friesland Holland Travel Service BV being forced to change the lodging address and/or the arrival or departure dates, Friesland Holland Travel Service BV is committed to inform the clients concerned. If there is no comparable alternative or if no use is made of that offer, Friesland Holland Travel Service BV is committed to the refund of the travel fees already paid.
c) Clients have no right to claim compensation for expenses.
Cancellation terms
Cancellations can only made by registered letter or by e-mail to Friesland Holland Travel Service BV.
Cancellation fees
a) Cancellations within 1 day after the date of booking when the starting date is within 2 weeks after booking: € 150,00 per booking in compensation for booking fees, administrative charges, postage fees, and the costs of the composition of the travel information folder.
b) Cancellation between 1 day after the date of booking and 6 weeks before the date of arrival confirmed by Friesland Holland Travel Service BV on the invoice: 15% of the booking fee.
c) Cancellation between 6 and 2 weeks before the date of arrival confirmed by Friesland Holland Travel Service BV on the invoice: 50% of the booking fee.
d) Cancellation within 2 weeks before the date of arrival confirmed by Friesland Holland Travel Service BV on the invoice: 75% of the booking fee.
e) Cancellation within 5 days before the date of arrival confirmed by Friesland Holland Travel Service BV on the invoice: 90% of the booking fee.
f) Cancellation on or after the date of arrival confirmed by Friesland Holland Travel Service BV on the invoice: the entire booking fee.
