The water sports paradise: The Frisian lakes are ideal sailing waters

Friesland has the most CWO-recognized sailing schools within its borders: 21 out of 45 in the Netherlands. And most of the Frisian sailing schools can be found, logically, in the Frisian lake district. There, so to speak, half of Europe learns tour and competition sailing.

For a while it seemed that the sailing sport was in the doldrums, but the tide has turned. Day trippers who cannot sail rent a sloop, but sailors pick up a Polyvalk, Motion, Randmeer or the new Aira. Friesland ideal
Children learn to sail under the guidance of specially trained instructors at sailing schools, often students, as early as age seven. The Frisian lake district is perfect for learning to sail, because there is a water for every type of weather and every lesson boat. For example: if the wind is too strong on the Sneekermeer, it can be diverted to one of the many neighboring pools. Thus, sailing lessons can always be given and sailing can always be done in Friesland.
